Natural Deodorants
I remember a few months ago when Kyrzayda died. She was a blogger that I very much admired. I followed her journey through stomach cancer very closely through social media. When she died, I began to read a lot about cancer and the most common types in women. As you may know, breast cancer is one of those that is on the rise in our society and we don’t know the exact reason for it. We have cases in nearly every family and it’s so greatly suffered!
Researching, I read about deodorants with a potentially harmful ingredient: Aluminum chlorohydrate. In 2016, the prestigious International Journal of Cancer published a study that showed evidence on the “activator” effect of aluminum salts on the mammary glands. The study says: “Our observations provide experimental evidence that aluminum salts could be carcinogenic to the mammary glands.”
So for me, just one small evidence of an ingredient interaction in a daily cosmetic product being directly associated with these terrible diseases is important. I at least educate myself, read a lot, change routines, and change cosmetics. Better to prevent than to have to cure, don’t you think? Sadly, there are also indications that this is also related to the rise in Alzheimer cases in our time.
How Do I Know if my Deodorant has Aluminum?
Do to the ingredient list, read it, and if you see any of the following ingredients, then it most likely does:
-Aluminum Chlorohydrate
-Aluminum Zirconium penta-chlorohydrate
-Any ingredient that begins with the word “Alum – “
Aluminum is linked, in a multitude of studies, to many diseases. As always though, there is no study that confirms a 100% toxicity or something so conclusive so as to change or pull off the shelves all those commercial brands of deodorants and antiperspirants that we are all used to.
Difference Between Antiperspirant and Deodorant
Even though we are used to hearing these two words together, they are not the same thing. They are two types of product that we need to know how to differentiate to know which one we need and at what moment.
·Antiperspirants contain aluminum that stops transpiration, completely clogging the pore.
·Deodorants stop the flow of sweat but they prevent bad odor, acting against the bacteria that causes it.
With this post, I exhort you to start making changes, little by little, in the products you use on a daily basis, be it makeup, skin care products, deodorants, etc. I left below a list of deodorants I have used and really like.

Recuerdo hace unos meses atrás recuerdo cuando murió Kyrzayda , una bloguera a la cual admiraba mucho , seguí su proceso del Cáncer de estómago muy de cerca, atraves de las redes sociales y cuando murió , no puedo negar que comenze a leer sobre el cancer y los más propensos en la mujer. Y como todos saben el Cáncer de mama Por desgracia es una enfermedad que va en aumento en nuestra sociedad , y no sabemos muy bien la razón. Ya tenemos casos en casi todas las familias, y se sufre tanto.
Buscando leí sobre los desodorantes con Ingrediente potencialmente dañino: Clorhidrato de Aluminio
En 2016 el pestigioso International Journal of Caner publicó un estudio que aportaba evidencias acerca del efecto ‘activador’ de las sales de aluminio sobre las células de las glándulasde las mamas.
Éste estudio dice así:"Nuestras observaciones proporcionan evidencia experimental de que las sales de aluminio podrían ser cancerígenos ambientales de la mama."
Así que para mí una sóla evidencia de posible interacción de un ingrediente ,de un cosmético que se usa a diario, relacionado con éstas enfermedades tan malas, es importante. Por lo menos, me informo, leo mucho, cambio de rutinas y de cosméticos. Más vale prevenir que curar,¿no crees?.
Tristemente , hay indicios en que hasta está relacionado con el aumento de casos de Alzhaimer en nuestro tiempo.
¿Cómo sé si mi desodorante lleva aluminio?
Te recomiendo , ve a los ingredientes y lée. Si lleva alguno de éstos ingredientes , ya lo sabes :
Aluminium Chlorhydrate o Clorhidrato de Aluminio
Aluminium Zirconium penta-Chlorhydrate
Cualquier ingrediente que empiece con “alum”
El alumio está relacionado ,en multitud de estudios, con muchas enfermedades. Cómo siempre ocurre nunca hay un estudio que corrobore al 100% ésta toxicidad,algo tan concluyente cómo para que cambien o retiren del mercado todas las marcas de desodorantes y antitranspirantes, a los que estamos acostumbradas.
Diferencia entre transpirantes y desodorantes
Aunque estamos acostumbradas a ver juntas éstas palabras, la verdad es que no es lo mismo. Son dos tipos de productos que debemos de diferenciar para saber suál de ellos necesitamos en cada momento.
Los antitranspirantes contienen aluminio que detiene totalmente la transpiración, cerrando el poro total y absolutamente.
Los desodorantes dejan fluir la sudoración pero evitan el mal olor actuando sobre las bacterias que lo causan.
Con este post te exhorto a ir haciendo cambios poco a poco en los productos que usas en tu día a día , maquillaje, productos del cuidado de la piel, desodorantes, etc.
